The Concept

A Stardust franchise is a retail opportunity to open a family orientated lifestyle shop in your area. The shop will have a strong identity of selling high quality clothing, gifts and cards. The shop will sell a collection of products that are either manufactured or are distributed by Stardust.

Membership of Stardust's franchise scheme provides you with access of setting up your own Stardust store. Our franchise scheme give you flexibility to suit your market and the support of our established brand.

The Cost

The overall Stardust joining fee is around £35,000 (based on an 800 Sq Ft shop).

The franchise joining fees are divided into the following FIVE parts:

1. Administration, Training, Manuals, Marketing & Business Support (£5000)
· An exclusive territory right (excluding party plan) license
· A comprehensive training programme
· A complete set of Stardust operations manual covering all aspects of the business
· Your first years Business Plan and Business Presentation to raise funding from your bank
· Marketing launch package

2. Equipment and Stationary (£13,000)
· EPOS equipment (till, scanner, touch screen computer till)
· Laptop, colour laser printer and fax machine
· Retail display furniture
· Counter and stools
· Flooring
· Price gun
· Perspex display accessories
· Shop sign

3. Marketing Material (£1000)
· Bags
· Stickers
· Leaflets
· Catalogues
· Posters
· Price Tags
· Window display package

4. Stock (£15,000)
· Children's clothing
· Children's Accessories
· Toys
· Women's clothing
· Women's Bags and accessories
· Toiletries
· Men's Clothes
· Greeting cards and wrapping paper
· General Gifts

5. Software (£1000)
· Ordering software
· Accounting Software
· EPOS Software
· Microsoft office software

Excluded Costs

· Your solicitors legal fees
· Advertising
· Building works on the property e.g. plastering
· Plumbing including w/c facilities and a basic kitchenette
· Painting and decorating
· Electrics and lighting (lighting schemes must be submitted for approval)


The Agreement in Brief

1. You will be granted a 5 year exclusive (excluding party plan) licence (with 5 year renewal option) to:
· operate the Business within the Territory from the Premises
· use the trade names, trade marks etc
· use Stardust's copyright, material, know-how, knowledge etc
· use the benefit of Stardust's, EPOS, ordering and accounting management and marketing knowledge and experience.

2. Our Obligations are to:
· Provide you with know how, advice and guidance relating to the Business;
· Supply products to you;
· Supply stationery (at cost) when required;
· At cost, train your personnel;
· Organise an annual conference for Franchisees

3. Your obligations are to:
· Refurbish and equip the Premises as required by Stardust.
· Only use stationery, invoices, and products which are supplied by Stardust.
· Operate the Business in accordance with the Operations Manual.
· Use only signs and packaging in connection with the Business as have been approved by Stardust.
· Maintain the Premises to the highest standards and not carry out any alterations without the Stardust's consent.
· Use your best endeavours to promote and extend the Business.
· Operate the Business during hours specified by Stardust.
· Ensure that staff are well dressed, clean and polite.
· Not employ as a manager any person who has not completed Stardust's training course and been approved by the Stardust.
· At the request of Stardust provide potential franchisees with information as reasonably requested

You

· We are looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial spark that show stamina, dedication, focus and energy.
· Ideally you should have retail experience and an excellent level of customer service skills
· You should have sound business skills and be able to produce a comprehensive business plan.
· You should have access to, or the ability to raise a total investment in access of £35,000. We can introduce you to a number of banks familiar with our scheme and who have franchise focuses.
